St. Felicitas and St. Perpetua Church In Tunisia: History,Facts, & Services

St. Felicitas and St. Perpetua Church is a Roman Catholic Church located in Tunisia. It is dedicated to martyrs Felicitas of Rome and her seven sons and Saint Perpetua, a Tunisian noblewoman. The Church was built in the early 4th century. It was destroyed during the Muslim invasion in the 7th century. In the 980's, it was rebuilt on the ruins of a Byzantine basilica. The building stands on two levels, with the upper one dedicated to Saints Perpetua and Felicitas. The lower level is dedicated to St. Agnes and the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus. Inside the church, there are mosaics depicting the saints and a large painting of the martyrdom. Services at the church include Mass, religious festivals, and feasts in honor of the Saints.
