Saint Augustine's Church of Medjez El-Bab In Tunisia is a Roman Catholic Church located in the city of Medjez El-Bab, Tunisia. It was built in 1850 near the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Thuburbo Majus. It serves as the main Roman Catholic church of the city and is one of the oldest continuously functioning churches in the country. The Church of Saint Augustine is known for its Gothic Revival style and its stained glass windows, which were added in the 1920s. It is one of the best churches in Tunisia which you must visit.

History:

The church was originally built in the 19th century by French troops. The first mass was held in the church in 1850. In 1864, the church was designated a parish church and Father Auguste Lacuee was its first pastor. During World War II, the church was damaged by Allied bombing, although it survived with much of its stained glass windows intact. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Tunisia.
