History:

The cathedral was built in 1989, replacing an earlier cathedral of the same name which had been destroyed in the Tunisian Revolution of 1987. The cathedral is named for Saint Vincent of Paul and Saint Olivia of Palermo, the patron saints of Tunisia. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Tunisia.
