STT CHURCH In Tonga is a church founded and developed by missionaries from the Free Church of Scotland in the early 20th century. It’s known as the Church of Tonga or sometimes as the Free Church of Scotland in Tonga or FCSIT. It has grown to be the largest denomination in Tonga and was for a long time the only one with a presence throughout the kingdom. History:

 STT Church began in 1900 when Rev. J.R.Middleton arrived in Nukualofa, Tonga. He and his wife Mary was able to establish a regular Sunday school and bible study, preaching and other areas of Christian ministry. With the increasing number of young converts and the support of a few local people, STT Church was formally registered in 1909. The first Tongan pastor was ordained by Middleton in 1911, and the first Tongan church building and manse was completed in 1915.
