Sivapuram Sivan Temple follows the Agamic tradition of Hinduism as recognized by the Government of Sri Lanka. The Hindu priests in the temple perform all the rituals and ceremonies in accordance with Agama Shastras. The temple has separate puja timings and worships for Lord Shiva. It begins with the opening of the temple in the early morning hours when the priests perform the opening customary poojas like Abhishekams, Pushpaanjali, and offering of Naivedyams. Special poojas are performed on certain days of the week. Daily puja includes Abhishekam, Kalasa pooja for Lord Siva, Sandhyavandanam, Ekaadasha Rudrabhishekam and Sai Pooja for Lord Anjaneya.
