Perunthalai Sivan Temple follows the Shaivite form of Hindu worship. Devotees come to the temple to offer their prayers to the main deity Sivan. The priests at the temple offer aarti and other poojas according to Shaivite customs and recite verses from the Vedas, Puranas and other Hindu holy texts.
