Our Lady of Fatima Church In Sierra-Leone is an Catholic parish located in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. The church was established in 1945, and is the oldest Catholic church in Freetown. The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, also known as Nuestra Señora de Fátima, and is home to Roman Catholic parishes from throughout Sierra Leone.

History:
The first Catholic mission to Freetown was established in 1791 under the supervision of the Capuchin Fathers of West Africa. In 1857, after over 60 years of evangelization, the first Catholic parish was erected in Freetown bearing the name Our Lady of Fatima. This parish continued to grow and in 1945 it was entrusted to the care of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers from West India. In 1966 the church was entrusted to diocesan priests. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Sierra-Leone.

Our Lady of Fatima Church houses one of the largest statues of the Virgin Mary in Africa. The statue of Our Lady of Fatima is over 8 m (25 foot) tall and was brought to the church in 1952 from Portugal. The church also holds the relic of the heart of St. Padre Pio, a Capuchin Franciscan priest from Italy who is venerated by Catholics for his holiness and works of charity.

Our Lady of Fatima Church regularly offers Mass in English, Portuguese and Krio (the predominant language in Sierra Leone). Other services include confession, baptisms, weddings, funerals and devotional services, such as the Way of the Cross and Novenas.
