The parish of S S. John's has existed since the 16th century and the building as it stands dates from 1774, having replaced a previous 16th century structure on the same site. It is a magnificent example of a Scottish episcopalian church, in the provincial baroque style. It is located in the centre of the village on a site which was donated to the parish by the Earl of Breadalbane. The building is a category B listed building and has recently benefited from an extensive refurbishment which included the reinstatement of the original plasterwork and the conservation of the stonework.
