Little Dunkeld Kirk In Scotland: History,Facts, & Services

Little Dunkeld Kirk is one of the oldest buildings in Scotland, dating back to the 12th century. The first parish church was a timber building located just outside the walls of Dunkeld Cathedral. It was moved to its current site in the 16th century and renovated in 1778. Today, Little Dunkeld Kirk is an active place of worship and holds regular services. The church is also a popular tourist attraction as it includes the tombs of both Bishops Andrew and Robert Forman, the latter of whom was known for his work as an architect in Scotland. The church also contains masonry, stained glass and the grave of William Dunbar, a poet from the late medieval period and a courtier of the court of James IV.
