La Croix Evangelical Church was founded in 1847 by German-speaking settlers looking for a place of worship, who sought to form a church that was faithful to the Word of God. Under the leadership of pastors, deacons, and lay people, the church grew from a small group to become a vibrant, worship-filled community of believers. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Saint Lucia.
