The Anglican Church of Saint Lucia, Castries is a church that dates back to its first foundation in 1660 during French colonial times. It is the most ancient of currently existing places of Christian worship in Saint Lucia. It is also the only Anglican parish on the island. Castries is known for its spectacular architecture and beautiful gardens. The Church is a popular destination for tourists and a well-known site to locals. History:

 The Castries Anglican Church was originally constructed prior to 1660 by the French colonists on the island. The structure was built on the current site of the Cathedral Square, the centre of Castries city. The parish was reorganised by the Anglicans in 1660 with the help of British colonial troops and Captain Rex who arrived in 1747. In 1838, the church burnt down as a result of a mysterious fire. It was rebuilt in the same year following styles from the Georgian and Elizabethan periods. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Saint Lucia.
