St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish was founded in 1856 by Father Patrick J. Gaffney, DD, under the patronage of St. Michael the Archangel. Father Gaffney purchased three farms to create the original site of the Church, naming it St. Michael’s, and thus began Catholic worship in the area.
