Santa Maria della Visitazione e San Francesco di Sales is a Roman Catholic church located in the historic center of Rome, Italy. It is situated in the area of the Rione of Regola and has a facade facing the piazza of Sant'Eustachio, near the ancient church that was once the parish church of the same title. The church was built between 1871 and 1877, according to a project by architect Giovanni Battista Sbarra, who was also involved in the creation of the Palazzo Torlonia and the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore di Gesù. History:

Santa Maria della Visitazione e San Francesco di Sales was built as part of an effort to bring churches and public buildings constructed during the 19th century, in locations around ancient Rome, back in line with the city’s artistic traditions. The church was purposely designed to enclose the ancient parish and main altar within the main building’s outer walls, and was dedicated to both the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, and to Saint Francis de Sales. It boasts works of art, including paintings and sculptures, by eminent Italian artists such as Francesco Paolo Michetti, Pelagio Palagi and Domenico Morelli.
