Pontificio Seminario Romano Minore is a minor seminary located in Rome, Italy. It was established by Pope Pius XI in 1926. It is the only Roman-inspired minor seminary in the world and serves as a kind of "mini-Vatican" for students preparing for the Roman Catholic priesthood. Students at the seminary are immersed in the spiritual, cultural and academic atmosphere of the eternal city, while being presented with the practical and pastoral experience necessary to serve in the Church. The faculty consists of numerous Cardinals, bishops, professors and theologians from around the world. The seminary offers a wide variety of courses aimed at helping prepare future priests for their duties in the Church. These courses include ecclesiology, Scripture, canon Law, moral theology, spiritual direction, homiletics, and catechetics. The seminary also offers retreats and workshops to help nourish the spiritual formation of the seminarians. Students have access to a library and study room as well as apostolic activities such as preaching missions and pastoral work. Upon graduation, seminarians are prepared to become ordained priests for the Roman Catholic Church.
