Parco regionale dei Castelli Romani is an Italian protected area located in the Latium region, south of Rome. Its purpose is to protect the archaeological and natural assets of the Castelli Romani. The park's 28,000 hectares (69,000 acres) include a diverse landscape that ranges from volcanic hills to ancient olive groves, typical Roman farmland and Lake Albano. The park is home to over 120 species of birds, including rare and protected species such as the lesser kestrel. The parks also features Roman archaeological sites, including the ancient hamlet of Genzano di Roma, Labico and the Castel Gandolfo papal summer residence.
