The Museo Civico Etrusco-Romano (Museo di Volterra) is one of the most important archaeological museums in Italy, located in the city of Volterra, in the Tuscan region. The museum houses a remarkably detailed collection of artifacts, primarily from the Etruscan and Roman period, but also from archaic and Medieval times. The main focus of the museum is on the Etruscan and Roman period and it includes a large collection of Etruscan terra-cotta funerary urns and stone reliefs, Roman sculptures, coins and inscriptions, and other finds from nearby archaeological sites. There is also a large collection of Renaissance and medieval artifacts, including ceramics, paintings, and furniture. The museum is run by the General Direction of Archaeology of the Cultural Heritage Ministry of Italy.
