The Anfiteatro Romano was built during the reign of Emperor Trajan, near the old Roman Forum, by the same people who built the nearby Alcazaba and Roman Theater. It was one of the largest gladiator arenas in the Roman Empire, and held some of the most important fights and spectacles of the 4th century.
