The church complex is composed of a Baroque church, a church bell tower, a parish office, a rectory, and a cemetery. The church was built in 1653 from the initiative of the Jesuits, and since then it has been the main parish church of the Old Town district. Its architecture is of Baroque style with early Baroque and Gothic elements. The main altar was designed by Bernard Behrens and the interior decorations were initially created by Jesuit Jan Andreisz. The tower, built in 1655, is the highest tower in Poznań and one of the tallest in Poland, reaching 83.5 meters. The church has been a national monument since 1956.
