Bethel Christian Church In Panama is an independent church located in the city of Panama. The church began in the mid-1930s with a small group of students and teachers from the Bible Institute of Latin America. It grew quickly as people from all walks of life began to attend its regular services, and the church became known for its commitment to sound Biblical teaching and outreach to the poor. The church's history is closely tied with the bible institute, which started in the city in 1929. Its first pastor was the Rev. Carlos Amoroso, who arrived in 1932 and held their first service in a small rented classroom. He was joined in 1934 by Arnold L. Ruch, who created the church's mission statement and oversaw the church's expansion throughout the next two decades. Today, Bethel Christian Church In Panama still carries on the vision of its founding pastors, sharing the message of hope through its many ministries and services. These include Bible study groups, prayer meetings, youth groups, prayer retreats, evangelization seminars, mission trips, and community service projects. The church has also established a school, which offers primary, secondary, and tertiary education.
