Architecture:
The Al Safrah Mosque is located in the northern capital of Muscat, Oman. Built in the traditional Omani architectural style, the mosque is a large, spacious building with a single dome perched atop eight traditional pillars. The building features interior courtyards, multiple fountains, and gardens, and intricate, ornate patterns are carved into the walls and ceilings. Its primary entrance, located on the southern exterior of the building, is guarded by two watchtowers. The entrance is also decorated with an impressive iron doorway in traditional Omani style and opens into a vast courtyard with plenty of room for prayer. The two stories of the mosque are connected by broad staircases leading up from the ground floor. The interior décor juxtaposes the ornate details of the exterior with brightly colored walls and other geometric shapes and patterns. The mosque also features a minaret which is traditionally used to call out the faithful to prayer. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
