St. Olaf's Church - The English Church In Norway: History,Facts, & Services

St. Olaf's Church - The English Church is a Grade II listed Anglican church located in Kingston upon Hull, England. The church first opened in 1796 and replaced a chapel that had been used by English-speaking people since the 15th Century. The church is the only remaining English national church in Hull, and is the oldest still in use. The original church was built in the neo-classical style, but was destroyed by fire in 1845 and rebuilt in the Gothic style. The semi-circular apse and chancel are in the style of architect William Butterfield. Services at St. Olaf's Church follow the Book of Common Prayer and consist of traditional hymns and readings. The church also hosts weddings and funerals.
