Lunner Church is a Gothic Revival-style church located in Lunner, Norway. It was built in 1837 to replace an earlier wooden church, which was destroyed by fire. The current church is a large, three-aisled building made of wood and features a tower with a lead roof. The main entrance, in the western gable, has a rose window above it decorated with stained glass by Arne Kavlie in 1971. Lunner Church It is one of the best churches in Norway which you must visit.

History:

The church was first mentioned in historical records in 1308, when King Haakon V Magnusson granted Lunner a chapel. It is believed that King Haakon was very fond of the area as he decided to keep an estate and build a royal estate in Lunner during the later half of the 13th century. The current church of Lunner is said to have replaced an older, wooden church which was destroyed by fire in 1833. Lunner Church This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Norway.
