Giske Church is a Medieval Norwegian Benedictine abbey founded in 1150. Located in the village of Giske on the island of Giske in the municipality of Møre og Romsdal county in Norway, it is one of the oldest continuously used churches in the country. History:

Giske Church was originally constructed in 1150 as a Benedictine monastery. In the early 12th century it underwent renovations which included the construction of the main tower and a new roof. During the 1500s and 1600s, the abbey was an important center of Catholic liturgy and education. After the Reformation in 1537, the abbey was closed and the nave was taken over by the local Protestant Church. The nave was extended in 1637 and a new west tower was built around 1737.
