The Praise Church started with a vision from Pastor Cathy Claiborne to create a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic community. She was motivated to start the church by a desire to help St. Louisans who were living in poverty, facing unemployment and struggling with social issues. Pastor Claiborne began with a small congregation in the basement of her home but soon the ministry grew.
