The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary In Nicaragua is a Roman Catholic Church located in the city of Leon, Nicaragua. The Cathedral is renowned for its peaceful and imposing atmosphere as well as its graceful Baroque facade. It was built in 1747 on the site of a smaller 16th Century church. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of León. The original construction was damaged by an earthquake, but it was later restored in the 19th Century. The Cathedral has several elements of artistic and historical interest, including a former altar from the original 16th Century church, a painting of Our Lady of the Rosary, and a murals from the mid 19th Century.
