Worship Method:

Bishnu Davi Temple is a temple dedicated to Bishnu, the creator god of Hinduism. It is located in the village of Bhajanagal, in Kirtipur Municipality, located in the southwestern part of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Worship at the Bishnu Davi Temple is based on rituals and ceremonies prescribed in Hindu scriptures. The puja (offerings or worship ritual) begins in the morning, when devotees chant devotional hymns and offer prayers to Bishnu. Then, the priests perform various rituals such as circumambulating the temple, offering flowers and other items to the deity, and chanting Vedic verses. The central deity of the temple is Bishnu, who is worshipped in the form of his four arms. He is usually draped in gold or silver ornaments and a white kurta and churidar. Devotees then offer food and milk as an offering to Bishnu. The main items offered during puja include puja items such as garlands, incense, sweets, fruit, and other offerings. After the puja, devotees participate in the bhajan or devotional singing and perform aarti. They also do pradakshina around the temple and distribute prasad. At the end of the puja, the chief priest performs a special ceremony called purnahuti, where he offers ghee (clarified butter) and flowers into the havan (fire) and performs a ritual that symbolizes Yagna, an offering to the gods. This ritual is said to bring blessings from Bishnu. Apart from the regular puja, special puja is also held during festivals like Navaratri and Janmastami. During these festivals, devotees offer puja to Bishnu, along with other deities. Devotees offer bhog to Bishnu and the priests also perform various poojas. Other than this, priests and devotees perform havan and abhishekam on special occasions. This most visited temple in Nepal
