United Pentecostal Church International In Namibia: History,Facts, & Services
United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) is a Oneness Pentecostal Christian denomination, headquartered in Weldon Spring, Missouri. UPCI stresses a generally conservative viewpoint in doctrine and practice, and adheres to the fundamental (or "old-time") Apostolic doctrines of Oneness, baptism of believing believers by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ and the dress and grooming standards associated with the Holiness Movement.
History
UPCI was formed in 1945 when a group of Pentecostal ministers began to unite around the doctrinal conviction of "God in Oneness" and prophetic healing. Following the 1916 Azusa Street Revival, a split occurred among the Pentecostal believers over the emphasis on Divine healing, particularly the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Initially, small groups of believers united around this common commitment, the most large and influential of which was the Assemblies of God.
The group that eventually became the UPCI united around "a more fundamental basis of identification" and rejected the idea of a trinitarian God. By 1945, under the leadership of E.N. Bell, the group officially dubbed itself the United Pentecostal Church International and adopted a Constitution and Declaration of Faith.
Facts
• UPCI is the largest Oneness Pentecostal denomination in the world, with 4.1 million members and 11,700 churches.
• Membership is concentrated in the United States, with 34.5 percent over half of the total membership located outside the US.

• UPCI emphasizes the literal fulfillment of Bible prophecy and believes in the premillennial return of Jesus Christ.
• UPCI has a structured hierarchical leadership system, with a general presiding bishop at the top, followed by district superintendents and local pastors.
