The organization began in 1994 as a multi-denominational Christian outreach and has grown over the years to become a major source of faith-based care for the local community. The mission of the Lighthouse is to empower and inspire individuals, families, and organizations to reach their full potential and live with purpose. History The Lighthouse was founded in 1994 by Pastor Joseph Smith and his wife Eleanora. The Smiths were inspired to start the non-profit organization after discovering the need for quality spiritual and emotional counseling in the local Cleveland community. The Church opened its main office in 1995, and since that time has been providing spiritual care, counseling, and services to individuals in need. Facts • The Lighthouse Christian Centre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. • The Lighthouse is dedicated to serving the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of its community through a variety of programs and services. • The Church is located in the Cleveland suburb of Euclid, Ohio. • The Lighthouse currently serves over 500 individuals and families in the Cleveland area. Services The Lighthouse Christian Centre provides a variety of services designed to meet the needs of individuals in the Cleveland community. Services include, but are not limited to, weekly worship services, job readiness classes, counseling and mentoring, basic needs and financial assistance, drug and alcohol support groups, spiritual retreats, and after-school and summer enrichment programs.
