The Pentecostal Holiness Church is an international Protestant Christian denomination that is similar in fundamental doctrine and practice to other evangelical, Pentecostal denominations. It has its origins in the late 19th century Holiness Movement, which was a renewal in Christian belief and practice prompted by the teaching of John Wesley in the 1700’s. The Pentecostal Holiness Church was organized in 1911 in Gillis Springs, Georgia. It is one of the best churches in Namibia which you must visit.

History:

The Pentecostal Holiness Church grew out of a series of camp revivals held throughout rural Georgia in the late 19th century. The revivals, led by Methodist evangelists, saw a dramatic increase in membership, leading to the formation from 1911-1915 of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Georgia. From there, the church spread though the Southeast and then West, reaching out to black churches, who responded favorably. This helped the church become one of the largest black Pentecostal churches in the United States. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
