It is the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination, with over 65 million adherents in more than 200 countries and territories. History:

Pentecostalism began in the early 20th century within the Holiness movement, and was influenced by a series of revivals within Protestantism known as the Azusa Street Revival. This revival, which began in 1906 in Los Angeles, California, was the catalyst for the formation of the Assemblies of God and other Pentecostal denominations. The movement was led by a group of ministers who held presbyterian, Methodist and other evangelical beliefs, who became convinced of the need for a distinct Pentecostal denomination. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Namibia.
