Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra located in Rayachoti near Proddatur, Kadapa district in Andhra-Pradesh. The temple is visited by many devotees throughout the year. The worship method in Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is a combination of both traditional and modern methods. The temple follows the Agama Shastras wherein the Brahmin priests perform the daily rituals and Homam. The temple is open for worship from 6:00 am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm daily, except for Tuesdays when the breaks are from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The first time visitors to the temple, offer 'Vilvam' (leaves of the sacred 'Vilvam' tree tree) and honey to the deity. The traditional rituals performed include "Abhishekam" (anointing of the deity with water), offering of coconuts, lighting of lamps, singing of shlokas and mantras. The priests also perform "Ganapati Homam" (prayers offered to Lord Ganesh) to invoke blessing of the Lord. To create a grand atmosphere during the worship hours, the temple has made a provision of music and chants. Various bhajans and kirtans are played during the puja offering special atmosphere of devotion. The temple had made provisions to offer free meals which are served during lunch hours.
