Worship Method:

The Kanaka Durga temple is the largest temple in Vijayawada and is a significant pilgrimage site in Andhra Pradesh. The worship rituals of the temple are followed according to Shaiva Agama and Vaikhanasa Agama. The main deity in the temple complex is Goddess Kanaka Durga. The Goddess is offered daily in a traditional way with several rituals including suvasini pooja, ashtothsara pooja, pujapathra pooja, navagraha pooja, and others. Devotees also offer special prayers to Lord Shiva and other deities in the temple complex. The daily pujas in the temple start with Suprabhata Seva at 4:30 am. Abhishekam is performed during every morning at 6:30 am. Later, the goddess is seen in the decorated avatari in a procession. The palanquin is taken around the entire temple before the deities finally enter the main sanctum. Following the procession, several pujas are performed thereafter. As per the Agama Sastras, the Abhishekam and other poojas are performed from 5:00 pm in the evening.
