The worshipers will also take their shoes and turbans off before entering the Gurudwara and cover their heads with a chunni (scarf). Prayers and offerings are made in front of the Akhand Path or Suggan Di Granth, the holy books of the Sikhs. After the Ardaas, the Hukamnama (Divine Command) is read to the congregation and usually involves meditating on a section of the Guru Granth Sahib or one of the fundamental Sikh belief systems.
