History:

: Baijnath Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva in the holy town of Baijnath in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. The temple, believed to be built in 804 AD by two local merchants, is a famous sacred place and revered pilgrimage center for devotees of Lord Shiva. The Baijnath Temple has been declared a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India and is part of the famous Chintpurni Shrine, which is an important destination for Hindu devotees from all over the world. The Baijnath Temple in Kangra follows the Shaivite style of worship. Pilgrims and devotees visit the temple to offer prayers and seek blessings at various timings throughout the day. The temple priests start their day with morning aarti at 4:00 a.m. and the temple remains open until 8:00 p.m. Different rituals including the Abhisheka are also performed throughout the day. During the puja, devotees offer flowers, bilvapatra, and incense sticks to Lord Shiva in honor and respect. Devotees also meditate on the God's divine power and generosity.
