Eglise Catholique Merimanjaka In Madagascar is located in the town of Merimanjaka, in the Antananarivo Province of Madagascar. It is a Catholic church in the Diocese of Antananarivo. It is known as the Parish of St. Antoine Merimanjaka. The history of the church dates back to 1790 when the first group of Catholics from Ireland and the Netherlands arrived in Madagascar. That same year, Father Raymond-Joseph de Maxer, a French Dominican Missionary, established a mission in Merimanjaka. Father Pierre-Félix Baurind opened the church in 1803 and it was dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua.
