Chinese Lutheran Church of Madagascar In Madagascar: History,Facts, & Services

The Chinese Lutheran Church of Madagascar was officially established in Antananarivo in January 2000, making it the first Chinese-speaking church in Madagascar. The church was established by a group of Chinese Christian immigrants from Guangdong, China. Many of the church members were migrant workers in Madagascar. It is one of the few Chinese churches in Africa and the only non-profit organization providing religious services for Chinese Christians in Madagascar. Today, the Chinese Lutheran Church of Madagascar has grown to become an important place of worship for Chinese immigrants in Madagascar. The main service offered by the church is religious worship on Sundays, as well as Thursday evening bible study. The church also provides various community activities, such as the Chinese New Year celebration, which brings together Chinese people from different backgrounds, and other social events, such as Christmas parties. The church also serves as a bridge to connect the Chinese and local communities in Madagascar.
