Father Pedro Opeka traveled to Madagascar in 1965. He was inspired to help the people living in extreme poverty conditions in the south. The project evolved and began to expand. Today, Akamasoa is home to more than 25,000 people and is a model of sustainability, promoting economic and social change in the region.
