Riga Nativity of Christ Orthodox Cathedral is the largest Orthodox Cathedral in the Baltic region. It is located in the historic center of the Latvian capital and was built in the Russian Revival style between 1876-1883. It is the most important Orthodox Church in Latvia and is one of the largest in Europe. The Cathedral houses five main chapels on its central nave, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, Saint Alexandra, Saint Sergius of Radonezh, Saint John Chrysostom and the Nativity of Christ. The Cathedral also features a colonnade, a bell tower, sculptures, religious icons, and other artifacts of great historical, religious and artistic significance.
