The parish was founded in 1999 with the help of the Franciscan Friars of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and attended by mostly non-Kosovar Roman Catholics. The parish serves the local Roman Catholic community, including Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, Albanians and other people from the region.
