The African Holy Ghost Christian Church (Ahgcc)- Wabera In Kenya, is an association of churches located in East Africa and founded in 1928 with the aim of employing Christian doctrines in the local culture. The Church was established in the then British East Africa Protectorate, now known as Kenya. It was founded by Bishop Gerasimo Wabera, who served as the first Bishop until he died in 1941. He was succeeded by Bishop Levi S. Wabera, who served until his death in 2002.
The African Holy Ghost Christian Church advocates for a balance between faith and culture. It encourages members to continue to observe their cultural traditions, such as dressing in traditional attire, but also combine it with their faith through following the Bible and Jesus’ teachings.
