The traditional worship method of Banganga Temple is that devotees offer prayers and puja rituals to propitiate the Goddess Kali. Offerings to the Goddess may be coconuts, red flowers, incense sticks, and vermillion. It is believed that these offerings will please the deity and bring good luck and prosperity to the devotee's home. After the puja is completed, devotees perform ‘Arti’ or a ‘Yagya’ involving the worship of Sage Valmiki, who is believed in Hindu mythology to have brought the River Ganges to earth.
