Flag Tower of Hanoi

The Flag Tower of Hanoi is a historical tower located in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It was built in 1812 during the Nguyen Dynasty as part of the Hanoi Citadel complex, which served as the political and military center of Vietnam for over a thousand years.

The tower is 33.4 meters (109 feet) tall and has a unique octagonal shape with six floors. It is made of bricks and stones, with each floor featuring small windows and intricate carvings. At the top of the tower is a large flagpole, where the Vietnamese national flag is flown.

The Flag Tower of Hanoi was originally used as a watchtower and a military communication point. During the French colonial period in the late 19th century, the tower was also used as a radio station. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction in Hanoi and a symbol of Hanoi's rich history and cultural heritage.

Visitors can climb the narrow staircase to the top of the tower for panoramic views of the city and the surrounding areas.
