St. Aloysius Chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel and parish located on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The original chapel was completed in 1859 and was replaced with a larger structure in 1897. The chapel was designed by Joseph Gallagher, who was also responsible for designing the main dome of Georgetown University. It is one of the best churches in Guyana which you must visit.

St. Aloysius Chapel has a long and storied history, intertwined with the history of Georgetown University itself. It was built by the Georgetown Jesuits and used as their chapel from its completion in 1859. The chapel was replaced by a larger, neo-Gothic structure that opened in 1897, and included several additions in the early twentieth century. The chapel was one of the first places of worship for African-American Catholics. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Guyana.
