South Ruimveldt Park Wesleyan Church is a church located in Georgetown, Guyana. It was established in 1916 and has been serving the community since then. The church has played an important role in the spiritual and social life of the Ruimveldt Park neighborhood and its congregation continues to provide guidance, prayer and fellowship. History The South Ruimveldt Park Wesleyan Church was founded in as a mission station within the Wesleyan denomination of the Methodist Church in British Guiana on March 20, 1916. The church was officially incorporated on April 16th, 1916, when the congregation applied for permission to build a chapel. The original building was located at the corner of Miles and Aga Streets in South Ruimveldt and was designed to seat up to 220 people. Since then the church has grown and relocated to the heart of the neighborhood. Facts The Church has a long history and is the longest standing church in the South Ruimveldt community. The Church is also part of the Guyana Central District of the Wesleyan Holiness Church. It has a membership of over 800 people and serves over 2,000 souls in the area. Services The Church is extremely active and provides many different services to the local community. These services range from Sunday School for children, Youth Ministry, Adult Bible Study, special services and regular mid-week prayer meetings. The Church also runs a soup kitchen, provides counseling, and sponsors events such as seminars and workshops.
