Franklin Talbot AME Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church located in Columbus, Georgia. The church was established in 1868 by free African American veterans of the Civil War and is one of the oldest AME congregations in the region. It is noted for its historically significant architecture and unique sanctuary, which includes stained glass windows, an altar rail and an organ. History:

The church was founded in 1868 by formerly enslaved African Americans who had fought in the Civil War. Initially, the church shared space with other AME churches in the area. In 1883, the church moved to its current location. The church was named after another AME church established in 1864-65 by Rev. Franklin Talbot and named after the founder of the AME faith, Bishop Richard Allen. The original building was destroyed in 1948 and the structure that stands today was built in 1950.
