The history of the RCCG dates back to 1952 when Rev. Akindayomi founded the Christ Apostolic Church under the lead of The Holy Spirit. In 1982, Pastors Enoch Adeboye and Sunday Omoniyi took over the leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church and changed the name to The Redeemed Christian Church of God. Since then, the church has experienced tremendous growth and many parishes, provinces, and denominations have been created under the RCCG umbrella.
