Temple Church is a late-12th-century church in London located between Fleet Street and the River Thames. After surviving a major fire in the late 17th century, Temple Church became a favored place of worship for members of the legal community. Temple Church was founded by the Knights Templar in 1185, who moved the church there from Holborn in the 13th century. The church was built in the style of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and was defined by its round shape. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
