The church was created to serve the needs of the growing Catholic community in the area. The parish was founded by the late Rev. Ronald E. Beyer, who was pastor for 15 years. Fr. Beyer was an influential leader in the founding of St. Theresa’s. The original church building was consecrated in 1971 and was known for its distinctive “igloo”-shaped roofline.
