St John's Wood Church is a Church of England parish church in the London borough of Westminster. It is located in the district of St John's Wood, in the northwest of the city. The church is part of the Diocese of Westminster and has been a Grade I listed building since 1954. It is one of the best churches in England which you must visit.

History:

The present St John's Wood Church can be traced back to the 12th century, when it was part of the former Augustinian priory of St John's Hospital. The chapel was initially constructed in wood and stone before being replaced by a larger building in 1299. In the 15th century, a new building was constructed to accommodate an increasingly large congregation. This building was then demolished in 1942 due to bomb damage during World War II. The current building was rebuilt in 1951 and consecrated by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1954. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
