St. Andrew's formed in 1872 when eight members of Elsie Harmon Memorial United Methodist Church established Elsie Harmon's daughter church. The combined ministry has served in various locations, beginning with a mission house on Tattnall and Orange Streets, then to two locations on Jeffersonville Road, and finally to the present facility on Houston Avenue which opened in May of 1996.
